Books I Think I Will Love But Can’t Bring Myself To Read

WARNING: Maybe some minor spoilers ahead (nothing explicitly stated)

Basically, this is a post where I talk about, at length, how much of a chicken I really am.

1) They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

For obvious reasons, this will break me, I just know it. But on the other hand, the concept is just too intriguing to pass up!

2) Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

So, I read some spoilers and I am deceased. To be honest, as much as I love these characters and Six of Crows, the likelihood of me reading this is slim to none. If I don’t read it it’s not real, right? Someone tell me it’s not real!

3) Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I love the ACOTAR series but I am scared to start this one because there is so much hype! Also, I really hate love triangles, and the number of love interests our main character has in this series, I don’t know if I am prepared and I really don’t want to end up hating it!

4) Soulmates by Holly Bourne

Again, I read a spoiler and while I really would love to read this and I would probably love it, I don’t know whether I ever will because the spoiler really ruined it for me. My curious mind and Goodreads reviews really should not mix.

5) The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

This one will definitely destroy me. For those Greek Mythology buffs out there, we all know what becomes of these two and I just can’t face it. Tell me it’s worth the heartache.

  1. Throne of Glass’s love triangle isn’t too bad — it’s pretty obvious who she’ll choose but then I book three she does a complete 180 lmao!
I absolutely adore The Song of Achilles. That scene you’re talking about is so freaking sad but I think it’s worth it to read. It’s such a beautiful novel.
    Great post!

  2. I have to say i agree with Crooked kingdom to the point i don’t want to get invested in characters I’m not sure will make it (somehow I’ve made it this long without being soiled ) I will also say, I think you would be ok not reading the Throne of glass i read ACOTAR Series first and loved it. Still haven’t finished thorn of glass series lost interest after book 5 i believe

    1. Lucky, I got spoiled ages ago! I am the sort of person that loves happily ever afters though 😂 I have also read and loved ACOTAR! I agree, I think the Throne of Glass series is a little long, but I will probably get around to it at some point 🙂

    1. Haha, thank you! I would say the book definitely sounds a lot different than her other books, Soulmates is more fantasy and I think her more well known books are contemporary. I hope you love it if you do get around to reading! 😊

  3. The Song of Achilles is definitely on the list of books I’m too scared to read… I don’t really know when I’ll be mentally prepared for the devastation 😜😜😜
